LON-CAPA 3.0

Initially, LON-CAPA was a homework system. Over time, it acquired course management functionality and a scalable, networked infrastructure.

This progression is reflected in the current interface, which moves assessment functionality into the foreground. As in other highly developed systems, a complete set of course management features is available. Some of these features are currently found in lower levels of the interface.

The focus of the 3.0-release will be to invert the two upper interface layers and move common "95% tasks" into the foreground. At the same time, we will not lose any of the powerful assessment features that faculty came to rely on, and will preserve backward compatibility of existing materials and courses.
